My neighbor Lonnie, last saw me as a young girl. Only a couple years older than his oldest daughter. I never thought about having to describe myself to him like this before. He knows I am the Farmer’s daughter and a musician. He’s heard me play on his piano. He still knows my voice when he hears me talking, but if he saw me he probably would not know me. Only my voice could give me away.
My hair has recently been changed I am still pretty short compared to my father and brothers I don’t know that he would know that either. His father has given me one of the highest compliments. When I created my Thank You Veterans Newsletter they were among the ones who received maybe all three issues. Lonnie and his father are Veterans and I will never forget his father telling me how he likes to read those over again every once in awhile. That meant a lot to hear those words. So I do know that Lonnie is aware of my writing and that I am also writing a book detailing Grandpa Leo’s service time. Lonnie has made some comments to me about that as well.
This is a man who has known me most of my life and knows my family. I am not certain I would want to tell just anyone about myself if I didn’t know who I was supposed to describe myself to I do have some standards! That is why I chose to write this with Lonnie in mind as a cousin, friend and neighbor.
