Unconditional Love

What does love mean to you? How is it shown in your family?

Lately, I have experienced many various forms of love. The love of family from my elders and vice versa love from my niece. Even love from a varied group of my standing communities called Facebook.

God’s love gives me peace and comfort during my lows and highs. God has also given me an amazing gift of love. Only God can give us such an intense devotion to another. There are the people born into our lives and the ones we choose to bring into our lives. We have to be careful with the influence new people bring with them into our surroundings.

My youth was very much like being in a cocoon snuggled in tight with those I loved. I was kept safe, taught well and loved. Now as an adult after a long time of waiting an and an odd way of beginning a relationship and finally love has enveloped me from within. Yes we had photos of each other, but we know each other and tend to finish each other’s thoughts.

The Lord has given me my best friend and confidante that encourages me and believes in my writing as much if not more now than myself. My grandparents, both of them had deep loving relationships, and my parents have a loving and strong relationship.

Sometimes I wonder if the rose-colored glasses will come off. Yet I pray they don’t. A love so unconditional in our circumstances seems off-kilter, however, we have something… so special and incredible.
