Since last Thursday I feel like a scatter brain. I was able to plan and organize my series and have them straddle each other. All of a sudden I have this one big problem and then vegetables to be canned. Today we canned another dozen jars of pickles.
Unfortunately, we lost one jar to a certain Uncle who showed up conveniently after I finished a new batch this morning. Plus we added garlic to this mixture and I would have liked to taste-tested before giving it away. However, I was there saying yeah well we have all those up there we got plenty. We Alsmans love our pickles what can I say!

Maybe I’m just enjoying the benefits of Summer too much. Even with my eye stuff we have been able to continue walking the last couple of days even earlier today. It just feels good to walk and is just energizing and a great way to stir up some creative vibes.
Canning pickles and cutting up leftover sweet corn has felt purposeful. Like one of the previous writing prompts I answered on living sustainably. Living off the land and knowing how to cook the vegetables you grow are a part of that and it feels good to know we made those pickles from cucumbers. Plus we wont have to buy pickles for the rest of the year at least if not until next Spring. The gift of Seasons God gave us to feed ourselves with for the winter months. The historian in me also connecting with the pioneers even to recent family history during the Great Depression and World War 2.
Plus I have officially gone over 300 articles at some point today! The milestones come so quickly over 1500 views total. I am flabbergasted and humbled that I have garnered your attention Thank you for your patronage!
