Summer School at OCU

My college life was really unique. I began college right after graduating from high school, but realized a Catholic Campus wasn’t right for me after all. So then working a job for most of that semester and saving up I was able to start college for the Spring Semester. Maybe this course a year later between me and my advisor thought it would be quicker to x off one of Mr. Gee’s classes this way.

Talk about a character Dr. Cutchin was absolutely a character, so this means Mr. Gee was infinitely more of a Campus character. All of my Geography classes were with him and in one specific building one of the older buildings. Usually we were in the underground part of the building which is where we were for this summer school session. It was one of the biggest classrooms we had on campus I believe. It was a science building and now no longer exists.

There are parts of campus I’m starting to forget. Now they have taken away some buildings and added on so many new ones it’s hard to keep up with my Alma mater. I had to take allergy shots during college from the clinic outside of campus. Once I graduated, I found out they created a Clinic for students now isn’t that wonderful. Every week I didn’t have to make an appointment, but I had to give them the vials when I received them it was an added stress that a college student doesn’t really need, on top of school.

Fortunately I got over shots later on I am just glad current students don’t have to go find a doctors office like I did. It was a minor problem it’s also a good thing my allergies weren’t as bad as having had anaphylactic shock tendencies. Having the hives were from medicines while I was at college though.

Remembering all the details as to how Lilly and I initiated this little excursion of ours seems to boggle me. I do know I missed my cousins. Lilly also graduated the year I did and was successfully studying at the University of Evansville. We were so close to each other yet so far away in college land. She had two years down at this point though, she had the advantage on me and she wouldn’t stay at Evansville much longer.

We got less than 2 full days together, but the miles we shared are forever in our hearts.

It’s my 4th birthday and Lilly is 3 months away from being 4.
