Hosting a dinner who would you invite as they were sure to come?-Writing Prompt

Daily writing prompt
If you could host a dinner and anyone you invite was sure to come, who would you invite?

This is an intriguing idea. My family used to have massive Christmas Eve gatherings literally the whole town of Dugger would be at my grandparents house. Seeing all of the people crowded in the television on in the front living room, the elders in the kitchen living room space with their conversations and then walking through them towards the basement where some guys were playing pool and my uncles also had Star Wars on in the corner by the stairs leading back to the main house.

For some reason I remember having Christmas concerts with the player piano and pillow fights, but I don’t actually remember eating or having meaningful conversations on those nights.

More recently I seem to be at the kids table. On the 3rd of July our Alsman Family 4th the adults sat on the couches while us youngsters sat at the actual table. Listening to the kids talk was fun, but watching the boys talk into the fan was extremely comical.

This is hard to say family dinners are special and we don’t get as many on this side like last year, but we didn’t get as much time to talk with a houseful of all sides of our family. It was a rare glimpse into those Christmas Eve’s we used to have though, it felt really good.

There are new people in my life though, and dinner is almost always a good way to get to know people better. I used to be part of a ladies group that did ladies nights. Perhaps the Lord will work in mysterious ways to use a dinner to learn more about new friends sometime soon.
