What do you do when you need a recharge or restart? How do you know how to create a moment in time where you have to make a change? I made my decision a week before my checkup. The idea came and at first I hesitated, but thought this is a perfect time to make a change in the middle of summer. The next step was to get my hairdresser in on a time to do this change.
Finally July 3rd was our day that aligned, thank goodness. I kept thinking I might get cold feet. So this is what we started with long curly hair.

I tell you I felt resolute about this; it was right and good for me. Gina said she was a little nervous. I told her, you have done this before a few times.
First Round Trimming

Second Round of Trimming and no I was not getting second thoughts.
What no one can see is that there were two little girls running the salon that day. My niece, was not too happy about the loss of my long tresses, and Gina’s granddaughter who was excited and wanted my hairdo. Watching them watch me was hilarious. I couldn’t help but laugh at both of them watching Gina cut and work on my hair.

I wasn’t wearing earrings that morning, but I brought some with me. Okay I may be a little vain. I like leaving the salon wearing them to elevate the gorgeous hairstyle Gina’s hands have created. It is after all her artwork.

So here is the final masterpiece I am thoroughly happy with I couldn’t help smiling the whole night through our family fireworks display at home!!

This didn’t feel like a risk and yet at times it did. Are there risks you need to take? This is my hair it will grow back, but God wants us to make decisions that put us in the uncomfortable zone to put us where we need to be. Are you willing to make that decision?
I have given God the burden that my hair reminded me of constantly lately. This just feels like a clean slate for new memories and a new chapter to be written and I am excited about what I have accomplished here with over 200 published articles and counting.
