One of the most amazing tastes I have encountered is lamb. A long time ago we had a local Greek Restaurant. The owners have since retired and returned to Greece unfortunately for those who loved their restaurant. So I was young when I had my first gyro and I loved it. We had several birthdays in that place. Now it’s like that restaurant has been wiped off the face of the earth.
We locals remember though… their house fries the gyro sandwiches or plates and the steaks. I know I had some Baklava, but I don’t have the sweet tooth my dad has and others have. I can get through many meals without needing desserts. I do like making them though, sometimes I do save room. It depends on a few reasons whether or not I will consume an extra sweet, especially after having an exquisite dinner like a gyro plate.
Another thought on lamb? How often was this the meal of the Bible? Christ ate lamb yes most likely a lot differently cooked, but an interesting idea is it not?
