Wow this is another awesome question. Grandma Rosie’s Christmas Ham. We have made this for reunions and at other times, yet no matter what it takes me back to almost every Christmas Eve at her house for the Open House. Family would come in and eat with us all night long. There are memories of Uncle Tony’s player piano we would all sing and dance to Jingle Bell Rock. That ham could and still transports me to an old-fashioned Alsman Christmas in the country.
Unfortunately those stopped 18 years ago when Grandpa died. Our family is scattered about now, but those memories are still in that house and in our hearts. The topping in Grandma’s ham recipe is the magic of transportation. I have said this so many times over the years that that smell of Christmas goodness and Grandma are undeniably equating it with unconditional love.
