I love this question, but to pick one out of all history. This needs at least your top 5 at the very least. I would say Christ for the simple poignant reason that he was crucified on a cross to save me from my sins. The historian in me would say George Washington and Artemus Ward. The musician in me and part namesake Frederich Jewell. Lastly Miriam, among so many women and men of the bible.
Like I said this is a wonderful thought I am constantly analyzing. There are so many intriguing figures of American History alone and Bible History. It is simply too difficult to pinpoint one when God gave us many people of note who answered a calling one way or another.
