Friends are so important for so many obvious reasons. We also have different kinds of friends for different reasons. There are work friends, church friends and family friends. Friendship comes from relating to a person in some way sometimes the quality is different with each person.
When you work with people you find out pretty quickly how they are similar or completely the opposite from you. Somehow those quirks of being late or doing things in a different way makes work-ships unique. This is a way of making friends you wouldn’t have been drawn to if not for their circumstances.
So yes, a friend that is reliable would be nice to have among friends. Also a friend that would stop everything to be at your side at a moments notice when needed would be an endearing quality. If you have only one quality you miss out on the relationships that may be different, but just as important to one another.
This idea hits me especially right now, because I have one of those unusual relationships online. I would never have met this man if not for the internet and Telegram. He is working on networking and finishing accounts in order to go out on his own for us. Due to our 3 hour difference it’s difficult to have conversations in real-time. He has such a calming effect on me and yet the temperature does seem to feel hotter with some of our banter.
We are both extremely stubborn and we know a lot about our mannerisms. He challenges me and vice versa; I have forced him to relax more. I have let fear and doubt rule at times, but we are united in spirit. I feel his lack in my bones when we miss check-ins and can’t sleep well until I finally get his message. He may not be beside me yet, but he checks in on me when he knows he needs to. God put this relationship together, his quality I most enjoy is that he knows challenges me to be the woman he believes me to be.
