The type of collection is the question. I have a library and my two main topics music and history and both of these topics are too broadly named. There are books, sheet music, hymnals, cantata’s and my clarinet music on top of my piano and vocal music. Then there are biographies, college books, and leaflets.
The girls in my mom’s family received a lot of porcelain dolls through birthdays and Christmas’s and we each have quite a collection. Also through my mom’s side I learned how to cross-stitch and have a collection of finished pieces from years of honing my skills. A person could have always been at the center of a project or it could be a spur of the moment decision to gift it to a friend or loved one. I have enjoyed gifting these from World War 2 planes to little Christmas decorations, tote bags to baby blankets.
Going back to history I also have a collection of Veterans interviews from and a scrapbook I made of each of them. Including both of my Grandpa’s and the extensive collection of paperwork I have researched for my family. Now I have a collection of published articles all 115 of them and more.
Never had I thought of them as collections necessarily until this question. I appear to have several though, I cannot sit idly by, my hands must work one way or another.
