Have you ever broken a bone?

As far as I know I have never broken a bone. In the past few years though I have had problems with one bone. My ulna bone has been a troublemaker for the past 3 years. Granted it didn’t happen by itself, it took a very specific job and in a very short time my problem had shown itself.

A knot formed on my wrist and an MRI was needed to tell me that yes it was bad. Bone was hitting bone therefore creating some swelling that then began to form a very noticeable bump on my right wrist. The good news was that it was my right wrist, it would have been a different story altogether if my dominant hand was the infected area.

The whole process required two surgeries. One to cut down the bone and to brace it with hardware and secondly months later to remove the 7 screws and plate. Thinking my arm was good I took a job and found out it wasn’t completely healed. The doctor couldn’t find the fracture it was so tiny. The pain however, was excruciating. I have heard comments about fractures hurting more than broken bones; I really don’t want to know the differences. I am pretty certain they are correct after having gone through the experience. I did continue to work with my fracture wearing a brace and it was pretty miserable. If you don’t have to it may heal faster than mine did.

God was at work during the whole nightmare, like I said it could have been much worse if it was my left wrist that had been affected. I am grateful God was merciful in that way!
