What does that word mean to Americans? The word sacrifice brings a lot of emotions and several ideas that come to mind from research I have just recently looked into. Honestly though, in my life I don’t feel that I have sacrificed anything. I have a loving family, I was born into two families that love the Lord and have taught me to make decisions for myself. My education in various topics is because I am an American and the skies are not limited.
Our Congress has been able to have some real time conversations about the state of our Country. I watched a hearing with testimony from whistle blowers yesterday and today I heard another group of 4 testifying for the controversial topic: left-wing extremist committee. The democrats were totally different from this committee than the ones who tastefully coalesced in the Nursing Home Covid Deaths also this week. Yes I actually referred to Jamie Raskin with the word tastefully even after his disdainful 2nd impeachment of President Trump.
Yet watching this hearing the Democrats repeatedly tried to turn the tables and say Right-Wing Extremism is the top of the list of what we should be investigating.
Courage is a word that each Republican pointed at Riley Gaines. Each man stated they have 2 or 3 daughters and thanked her courage for standing up for them. Courage and Sacrifice go hand in hand. If one is going to sacrifice for something they have to have some measure of courage to face the reality of sacrificing the object or idea that is to be given away.
Each of these Americans have had to sacrifice for the good of their country to stand before Congress this week. Courage is taking it on as well as the brunt of the Democrats hornets nest of cantankerous questioning and demeaning of those testifying. What they all hope to take away from these experiences is that it will help Congress to bring accountability back to the institutions being represented. The Country as a whole, hopefully will be awakened to these horrific injustices and enact a course to benefit our future generations.
Watching these recordings of the hearings and looking at these faces while they were testifying speaks volumes. They want their actions and words to mean something for the good of this country. Yet for myself I don’t feel I can say I have sacrificed as they have or had to be as courageous as they have been this week.
Do you see yourself as courageous? Have you had to sacrifice?
