Something To Marinate On

The past week has been intriguing to say the least. My world was altered when my Grandpa Leo died. I have always had the loving cocoon of my family and their support. This may have been the beginning of my ability to adapt and begin analyzing my decisions, well pretty much everything.

Ideas started to come and go like the big questions in life. Sometimes it just truly hits me: why am I waking up in this home, in this state, in this country? Why wasn’t I born in any other country, to any other parents?

Do you ever have these questions bubble up? Life could have given us any number of varying different circumstances yet… here I am! There you are!

Why were we blessed to wake up every morning living in America?

I believe in scripture and that God has a reason for everything. There are no coincidences. Look at what our founders and patriots did. Some of the smartest, determined, God-fearing people fought for and died to create a place of freedom for future generations.

We are that future generation.

God gives us certain qualities to use for His glory. What purpose do you think He gave you? What could you be doing in our morally decaying country right now? We are split mostly by Democrat and Republican monikers. The more liberal group of the democrats have enacted policies that seek to tear down our country from the inside out. The sad thing is Republicans have a tendency to be as conservative as our mannerisms.

We don’t like confrontations, like we have seen from the other side. Our opinions matter though, too. The patriots who wrote our Constitution wanted an exchange of ideas, a spirited debate to hone the ideas to form good bills for the betterment of the country. The investigations spurred on by the Republicans are good for the country. It has shown us our weak spots and our camaraderie.

In one hearing the amazing American compassion came out of both sides of the aisle talking about Nursing Home deaths. No one talked over the other, all of the men and women testifying were respected. It was common ground. However, the Whistle-blower hearing and the Left Wing Extremism hearing both were seen talking over on another and disdain for the patriots sitting in the chairs testifying. Yet Riley Gaines herself mentioned we are all wanting the same thing. We want to have a safe country. We don’t want to have extremism on either side of the political aisle.

So what do you know here are two areas that are common ground!

That’s a start in the right direction isn’t it?
