What is your passion in life? Do you have more than one?
Writing was not my passion at all growing up. Obviously, growing up with the father who had the golden voice and with a mother who was the pianist at our church; music was natural. History did not catch on until I was a teenager who had just lost a grandfather.
Life is amazing and God if you let Him will lead you into your purpose. I tend to think of how or why He would give me these abilities. I do not feel talented enough to qualify as an expert in music, history or writing… yet I enjoy them. Christ spoke about talents and the word has been used by others towards me, but I still feel self-conscious about it. It is humbling to enjoy passions and be given sweet comments about them and how they have affected others. I do feel blessed and hope I am doing justice to the subjects and Christ through them.
When my family visited the Ark a couple years ago it was awesome. As a historian, Christian and woman to see history come to life and what that 8 member family did through God’s guidance. Talk about an experience; I still want my niece to see this incredible Ark Encounter. In one room, I remember these words as a focal point, ‘The Call.’

Noah saved his family because he listened. What are you being called to do?
Noah did as God had prepared him to. What would have happened if he had not done so? If the Ark had not been built would the promise have been given to mankind? The rainbow was and is God’s promise to us that the world would never be destroyed again by a flood. This is such a beautiful covenant God made and that we can still see even now in nature.

It is very unfortunate, but not surprising that in our modern era the rainbow has been stolen and twisted to represent an unholy idea not of God. Someone has to know history in general as well as Biblical history to know the real reasons behind the rainbow and the ark. It is imperative we as Christians and Americans have the right foundations of knowledge and education in our lives for the next generations.
There will always be a snake looming around trying to twist good into bad within our minds. Be wary and have your Bible to fact check when necessary. I have learned I cannot be silent when God calls on my heart.
Has He knocked on your heart?
