Unexpected Road Trip

God has a wonderful sense of humor. Do you ever set out thinking one way and then by the end of the process or the week it was completely a different way altogether?

Last Tuesday was the bombshell news. Due to the very sad and divergent tendencies of the word divorce my brother gets his daughter every other week. Which also means we as his family get her every other week and it’s something we track carefully. Our time with her is precious… extremely precious.

We were sitting at the kitchen table eating the chili soup I made that morning. All of a sudden I heard Effingham and we are taking her with us. My jaw dropped and I had to stop eating to not make a mess. Both dad and my brother had prepared for this trip and not once mentioned it to mom or me. There were 3 days until they would take off and this was the first time we were hearing about it. Like I said we look forward to our time with our girl, so it was a big shock.

All of a sudden this weekend without her seemed… suffocating.

Lets not let the devil know what we’re up to!

Several people including my preacher, have paraphrased this idea. Can you blame them it’s good.
