Sunday Afternoon Thoughts

History has been made this weekend in the land of British Royalty. All week long, there has been something in the air seeing the advertising of the Coronation Special from Fox News. However, I was unable to watch anything in real-time.

Saturday was a bustling afternoon. It is May, and it was the first of 3 Mother Day Banquets this year. Mom’s Church Banquet was the first and a very special speaker and message I hated to leave before she was through. Another event began at 2 pm, but this speaker spoke and had a powerful message that God had for all of us in attendance to hear.

My second event was my Aunt’s Retirement Party, being held at the Church I attend as well as my aunt and uncle. Since Mom and I stayed until the speaker was through it was nearly 2:30 before we were able to head south. My Dad and my brother were already there, obviously and they were able to get there at the start.

One of the articles I read this morning stuck out to me. Biden basically refused the invitation to go to the coronation, Jill went, however, with a grandchild. Apparently this is just as sad, as much of a comeuppance for the American representative from Biden’s White House is where they were seated. Jill was seated next to the bathroom facilities, this is not good for our future alliance with the British Royals and America. All I can say is we need a lot of prayers to change British sentiment back towards us. Although apparently we Americans have a lot of good sentiment towards the monarchy according to the British correspondents yesterday.

Forget about all the Markle hypocrisy from the last few years, Prince William and his wife are the fan favorite royals. And yes I have a whole slew of books that would fit into this season of royalty fun to dissect into a series whenever that would work. All books I found after Kate Middleton was introduced to the world and became our Sweetheart ‘Princess to Be’ throughout the world. Just as her mother-in-law had been. I for instance will never forget I was in Chicago, when Princess Diana died, for a family reunion that weekend. It was my first trip to the ‘Windy City’, but not my last time. There were at least 3 if not 4 trips in all.

I simply can find a topic to analyze and bring into the 21st century fairly easily. I still find this ability vexing at times… yet really fun and a challenge that hones my skills and ability to continue learning.

My Sunday is not over, but I may not get to my Sunday Night Thoughts depending on when I actually get back from a little trip tonight. It will most likely make an article sometime during the next week. It’s funny how busy the weekend ends up being from Friday night to Sunday night all the decisions that get changed or what doesn’t happen.

Do you like challenging yourself? Honing and tempering your creative skills or physical fitness, mental fitness? How many of you enjoyed watching the Royals at the Coronation? Or did you simply not care?
