We were on Highway 31, I wasn’t exactly paying attention to our precise route. Dad is always prepared and usually knows where to go. So when we left Greenwood I didn’t think about needing to be alert on our way home.
After about maybe a good half hour or more, I’m not really sure, Dad made a comment. We should be at Bloomington by now or something. So then I started pulling up my map and finally James did too. We should have been on Highway 37 not 31. We had to back track a bit since we had gotten pretty far down the road. I remember seeing the signs for Edinburgh and Columbus, but I’m not sure exactly how far toward either one of them we really got.
Okay wow I didn’t realize until looking at this map that we did in fact make it to Columbus.
This shows how crazy Saturday really was for us!
I remember as the road took us on this journey the beautiful scenery that my home state has been well known for for years. Risking the opportunity to visit my carsickness I jotted down some thoughts. I have to say I was very happy I was still in the front seat for this drive. The words I wrote were, life takes us through hills and valleys like U.S. 31 and U.S. 46 that we were able to find in order to get back in the right direction.

There is something really cool about this picture I had to add it once again!
As I wrote earlier this week in ‘Life-Giving’, a couple of billboards caught my attention on my side of the road. I mentioned the first one where a pregnant woman with a baby bump had two arrows. One arrow was on the woman and the other was on the baby bulge. The message was that both the mother and the baby are essential.
The second billboard I haven’t mentioned was sending the message that adoption should also be an option. Adoption is also a good alternate booster for your family. One caveat though; check your reasons for expanding your family is it for the parents or for the child’s best interest. Those kids need families the most if you seriously have love overflowing needing to direct it towards a child it could be a wonderful experience.
Experience being in a loving family shows me there is a dichotomy in this world. Children need love, if they don’t have family the world is a sad and scary place. Seeing that sign moved me as much as the other sign did. Life gives us those valleys and hills to show us how much we need God in our lives. If we don’t have loving, God-fearing families we don’t see that and our life has a void.
We are now on the road heading to Nashville we have been in Brown County for a little while. What memories will this awaken…
