Why did Easter have to happen?
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
Okay I have to admit I did have to look this up… but only after I had every word in place. I wanted to check the punctuation, specifically. Learning the sign language to different verses as a youngster helped me, but I am a bit rusty on the signs now.
When I first began to understand Donald Trump was running for our highest office too many loud voices were drowning out his message. One of the positions I heard from the opposition was about how horrible Trump was to women. It was a travesty how much that lie was used against him, especially when I see the capable intelligent women he not only employs but are among his family.
The above verse says God loves us; that is why Easter had to happen. Why on earth, though would Mr. Trump invite the headache his decision would create, in order to run? God knew our sins couldn’t be forgiven until there was a lamb to sacrifice His life for us. Christ took on our sins in order for us to have salvation through Him. Christ did not need to do this for himself.
Donald Trump was also not in need of what this position would give him socially or financially. However, what he would do for this country was the very opposite of what the media used to smear him. Women in history, especially at the time of the crucifixion of Christ were not seen as equals to men. President Trump came into office with a team of bright individuals extremely capable of owning their positions. Women working for Trump are those of strength, confidence, grace and determination to execute a job well done. Not to say they are perfect 100 percent of the time, they are normal women juggling gobs and life which makes them good, usually at time management.
There are too many women to name that President Trump has backed or who have backed him: Ivanka, Sarah, Kayleigh, Kellyanne, these would be the most notable including the women in his family. I daresay President Trump’s mother should also be among those names.
Look at scripture, who became Christ’s core followers surrounding Him in the gospels? Mary Magdalene, Susanna, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and of course Mary the mother of Christ. These women had keen minds and Jesus lifted their hearts in some specific personal way and they supported Him monetarily as well as through their energy and time.
One of the astute details of Resurrection Sunday to me is what the authors corroborated in the gospels. Why would any of the four authors of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John take the word of the women who first found the tomb? Others would not have accepted their versions, but these men are an exception to the rule of that day isn’t that incredible? They didn’t accept the norm, remember these authors were given the words from God Himself. God breathed the words to these men who would be as extraordinary in being picked by God, as the women were in this case.
Comparing Christ with mere mortals is aptly untoward. President Trump is a mere mortal, but God is working through him in ways we cannot completely understand. Look at what happened that original week of Christ’s last days on earth. The disciples didn’t fully comprehend what the Last Supper was until time had passed. Resurrection morning and the crucifixion took time to process. Changes are happening now in slow waves since Trump left office, I think most people can see his support continues to grow because of this trend.
Why is that? We all have free will to make our own individual choices!
Mary of Nazareth was a remarkable woman. She agreed to take this dangerous task of becoming a mother to this amazing Son of God. Her faithful decision to obey led her to show her Son to obey when His time had come. Yet what were her thoughts at the crucifixion of her Son? She knew the entire unbelievable story of His birth, surviving Herod and Egypt. Only the individuals who were a part of, what must have seemed like a dream, knew anything of this unique blessing of her life. Then before He died, Christ told John to take care of her as if she were his mother. Her well-being meant so much to him he put forth the best disciple to tenderly take care of His mother.
Christ taught and displayed how to treat women. When in those days they were seen as property. Neither Jew or Roman would allow their word to be used as authority. Easter revealed Christ’s true mission. Jesus’ actions towards women elevated them from possessions to the workforce that allowed the disciples to work more efficiently for the new era of the Churh.
Christ Is Risen. He Is Risen Indeed.
This is the photo in full. There’s something very intriguing to me about the 12 tribes of Israel. Then to be set as a frame of a clock; I just enjoy looking at this partially because my cousin gave it to me!
