Passion Week of 2023: Judeo-Christian Principles

The United States was very much envisioned and created by patriots who believed in the principles of the Bible. Many were taught from the Bible itself. Our country has benefited immensely from having these values at our nations infancy. Judeo-Christian fundamentals have been instrumental in the idea of our American exceptionalism.

Watching the events unfold Tuesday was breathtaking. The lack of the District Attorney’s smoking gun was disappointing as well as un-American. The sentiment of being charged without good reason seems familiar to me.

Christ prayed at the garden of Gethsemane, He was sinless yet was sent here for a time as this. As He prayed with such earnestness, Doctor Luke wrote, that Christ looked as if his sweat… was drops of blood 22:44. Jesus prayed, but He knew His purpose was drawing near.

Americans, not all of us, have lost that spark, the patriotic in your face attitude that I remember seeing as a child. There are a lot of factors that can be blamed and it is quite a list. There must have been other warnings, but the chills I felt when Covid first permeated this country was a lightning bolt. The idea that everyone all of a sudden became fearful overnight and just allowed themselves to be spoon fed garbage by the media and non-elected bureaucrats was difficult to digest.

Never in my life had I believed anything less than America was the greatest nation on earth and we had the freedom that so many others wish they had. America has been the land of amazing pioneers and people who survived so many different trails mostly from the East to the West. The Oregon Trail, Lewis and Clark adventure with Sacagawea, one of the most ultimate working mothers, I might add. They didn’t have the technology we have today, but look at what they did with less.

Americans have more than survived we have thrived for close to 250 years. Knowing my personal family genealogy as I do; I know for certain that I am here because of the unfailing faith in Christ and the ongoing prayers of generations before me. Christ prayed for a long period of time the night He was taken into custody.

Do we pray enough for our country? Do we love our country enough to seriously consider what praying could do and has done for the past 2 and a half centuries? God hears prayers, of course your heart needs to be right with Christ first!

Something about Tuesday was also a bit sad. President Trump when leaving his building to be arraigned that afternoon was missing a pin on his lapel. I heard it on RSBN, Right Side Broadcasting Network. Trump was missing his American flag. Does that not speak volumes as to how he thought about having to be paraded around in this way as a respected President who had accomplished so much in so little time compared to others serving in the oval office? Precedent is hard to walk back from and will make a difference for years to come.

During the press conference at Mar-a-lago another observation was made. The flags behind Trump were missing the gold fringe that have usually accompanied him for the past two years in speeches and other press conferences. No gold on the flags means that courts are without merit and are frivolous thereby conferring Admiralty and Maritime jurisdiction. The term kangaroo court has been kicked around in conversations dealing with this potential and now real indictment. What happens next?

I will close with this last thought. Tuesday after Trump’s speech before I went to bed I caught the Golden Girls. The last scene that put a smile on my face was breathtaking. Dorothy was teaching a GED class and was surprised to see Rose among her pupil list in front of her. Apparently she had supposedly got lost in the cracks so to speak of, in St. Olaf. Then as Dorothy was about to start Rose was on her feet with her right hand across her heart. She was explaining that she remembered from class as a girl this was the way to start a class…by standing and reciting the National Anthem. The whole class likewise stood and followed suit.
